Policy Statement

Modern Slavery is a crime that results in an abhorrent abuse of human rights. The Modern Slavery Act 2015, referred to as the Act, created offences of slavery, servitude and financial or compulsory labour.

Slavery, following the 1926 Slavery Convention, is the status or condition of a person over whom all or any of the powers attaching to the right of ownership are exercised. Since legal ownership of a person is not possible, the key element of slavery is the behaviour on the part of the offender as if he or she did own the person, which deprives the victim of their freedom.

Servitude is the obligation to provide services that are imposed by the use of coercion and includes the obligation of a serf to live on another person’s property and the impossibility of changing his or her condition.

There are numerous distinct types of modern slavery, such as forced labour, child labour, domestic servitude, and human trafficking. As a firm, we recognise that we must respect human rights in all aspects of our operations and work to end harmful practices. We also take action to make sure that modern slavery, in all of its manifestations, does not exist within our organisation. We determine that the danger of slavery and human trafficking in our supplier chains and business operations is extremely low due to the nature of our operations and governance practices. Nonetheless, we want to regularly assess how well the pertinent policies and processes we’ve put in place are working.

Since any occurrence would be expected to be a violation of the law, our supplier requirements, and/or our company rules, we do not have any KPIs related to slavery or human trafficking. Employment is a free choice: Workers are free to quit their jobs with a reasonable amount of notice, and there is never any kind of forced or mandatory work, including labour performed by bond, trafficked, or jail labour. Our applicants are not obligated to accept any assignments that are provided to them. The candidates voluntarily accept assignments and reservations.

Every time we hire a new employee or candidate, we make sure their identity documents are accurate. UK Visa & Immigration verifies all documentation related to the right to work, including biometric residence permits and statutory justifications for work. The Right to Work documentation is taken in copies; the originals are never kept. Every candidate must provide us with a minimum of two references from prior jobs. We would look into and report to the appropriate authorities right away if we discovered instances of modern slavery or any other grave abuses.
